About Us

Fall Gundogs is a small kennel located in northern Indiana. We breed Small Munsterlanders, and training, hunting, and honestly playing with dogs, is our passion.

We live in a rural community and enjoy the country life on our small farm. Our days are filled with working dogs, training sessions, and time outdoors. For us, dogs aren’t just something we raise—they’re a central part of how we live.

A Life That Started with Dogs

My life started with dogs right from the beginning. There was always a dog around me. My parents had dogs when I was born, and when I was about 6–7 years old I got a Fox Terrier and she became my first “hunting dog.”

My father also purchased a purebred male Fox Terrier, and we ended up having a few litters. Between that and growing up on a farm, I was exposed to a lot of animal husbandry. Whether I wanted it or not, I learned it. But those experiences taught me to appreciate the work and effort that goes into maintaining quality and healthy purebred animals.

From pigeons to horses, I’ve been looking at pedigrees most of my life. Sure, it’s just a piece of paper—but it carries significant value when you’re striving to maintain a good, healthy breed of animal. It’s like a record book of sorts.

As a teenager, I was always around animals. I had dogs and horses, and at one time even some hogs. I thought I’d be the next James Herriot. Life ended up taking me down a different path, and I didn’t go to vet school, but I still enjoy the veterinary and animal husbandry side of things.

What I really found I enjoyed most was training. I was the kid with the dog that played fetch with everyone and played dead. My horse was trained to ride without a bridle. While some kids were playing video games, I was outside riding horses and chasing roosters with my dogs.

Over the years I’ve trained several different breeds—mainly upland bird dogs and Border Collies—and I truly enjoy seeing the connection between dog, handler, and prey come together.
