Training with Fall Gundogs
I work with you and your dog to help bring out your dog’s natural hunting abilities—both in the field and in the water. Over the years I’ve picked up a variety of techniques and methods throughout my training journey, and I use what works best for the dog in front of me.
In many cases, folks just need a little guidance working through small issues with their dog. By working together with you and your dog, we can identify those challenges and help you build the skills and confidence needed to overcome them.
1:1 Training
I try to help people who just need a hand or someone to help them get the most out of their dog. I enjoy seeing the light-bulb moments that you see when training dogs. When everything works together.
Training birds
Through the summer months I’m also able to offer pigeons and other training birds.

I bought a male French Britt from Fall Gundogs last year.
After losing my 6-year-old female and with my 11-year-old dog starting to physically break down, I was suddenly left with only a 6-month-old pup to hunt with last season. I needed a well-started or finished dog ASAP.
Some networking led me to Caleb at Fall Gundogs. When we spoke, Caleb took the time to understand exactly what I needed out of a dog and gave me a very honest evaluation of the dogs he had available.
I ended up purchasing a 3-year-old French Brittany. Between Caleb and a friend in Kansas, enough strings were pulled to get the dog all the way out to Idaho.
I hunted the dog the day after he arrived, and he proved to be exactly what Caleb had described. Solid points, honoring, steady to flush, reliable retrieves, and very obedient. The dog did have to adjust to our valley quail, but he figured it out quickly, and his work played a big role in a very successful season.
This was my first experience buying a finished dog, and honestly, I doubt I’ll ever buy a puppy again.
